Oak Class Gallery

Take a look at what we have been learning in and outside of the classroom.

Commonwealth Games, "Train Like an Athlete" day.

Oak Class enjoyed their PE enrichment day learning how to shoot arrows in archery and challenged themselves to the agility course!

Our Geography and Art fieldtrip

We walked down to the canal to search for different types of water pollution and learnt about the human and physical features of this water landscape.

For our Art work, we sketched the canal scenes taking note of scale, shading and perspective. We will be painting these water pictures in class, taking inspiration from Monet.

Whitehall April 2022

We all had such an incredible time! We learnt plenty of new life skills, pushed our confidence and bravery to the limit and worked as a team to support one another. Well done Oak Class - what an adventure!

Some of the children in Oak Class chose to bake and sell cakes this week to help raise funds for the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. By the end of the day, they were sold out! Amazing efforts everyone!

Oak class thoroughly enjoyed their Indian dance workshop this week!

Oak class took to the stage today to perform their plays. We have been writing play scripts based on our class novel, Journey to the River Sea.

Our Science topic this term is, "Properties of Materials". Today we have been investigating dissolving and how this is affected by changes in water temperature.

In Geography, we have been using Digimap to explore and read online OS maps. We have learnt how to read the symbols on the legends and used this knowledge to find a range of features all over the UK. Next, we will be comparing old and new OS maps to see if we can see any changes in the water courses in our local area.

We have been experimenting with friction today. There were some surprising results! Inspired by the Winter Olympics, we changed the materials that were over a ramp to work out which material would make the fastest track for a sledge.

Year 5 Athletics team competing at Green Bank Leisure Centre. They all did a fantastic job!

Oak Class experimenting with air resistance. We designed our own parachutes and investigated whether the size of the parachute created more or less air resistance.

Practising our rolls and jumps in PE with SH Active Sport.
