Homework

Homework

Reading:

Children should be encouraged to read as much as possible at home. Parents/guardians should sign in their Homework Diary at least three times each week to show when the child has read.

Maths:

Spend at least 15 minutes on Times table rockstars.

To further support maths learning, here are some additional free and reliable websites you may find useful:

• Topmarks – a range of maths games, including Hit the Button
https://www.topmarks.co.uk/
• NRich – problem solving challenges designed for children
https://nrich.maths.org/
• BBC Bitesize Maths – videos and practice activities, including Guardians of Mathematica
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/subjects/z826n39
• Maths Frame – interactive games and maths tools
https://mathsframe.co.uk/

Alongside online practice, the most valuable maths learning often happens in real life situations. Everyday activities - such as counting change, reading clocks, measuring ingredients, comparing prices or looking at timetables - help children apply their skills in meaningful, memorable ways.
