Welcome to our school.
Findern School has occupied its current site since 1923 when it was built to serve the rural
communities of Findern, Stenson and Twyford. At that time the three villages were of a similar size but, as time went by, Findern grew rapidly towards the west whilst Stenson and Twyford retained their original size and character, leaving the school in its unusual rather isolated location. A number of extensions were added to the building during the 1930’s, 1970’s and 1980’s to provide accommodation for as many as 200 local children. At present we have approximately 123 children on roll.
Throughout all these years the school, in partnership with parents, has made every effort to maintain and improve its educational provision with a traditional emphasis upon providing a foundation in basic subjects.
This website briefly outlines how the school sets about its important task of preparing its current pupils for secondary school and adult life. Many of the routines, procedures and rules that help the school to run smoothly, safely and happily are included.
