  • Eco-Garden Green Flag Award

Thu 07 Sep 2023 The School Office

We are delighted to announce that we have received the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award with distinction. This is a result of our school's hard work to make our Eco Garden bigger and better, with the help of East Midlands Airport.

  • Heather Wheeler's visit to our Eco Garden

Tue 13 Jun 2023 The School Office

Heather Wheeler MP, on Monday morning, visited Findern Primary School to meet the Headteacher, Mrs Fox and to be shown the newly opened Eco-Garden by the lead teacher, Mrs Preston and the students who are members of the Eco Committee team.

    Heather Wheeler MP says:

“On my Tour of schools I visited another lovely primary school, we are lucky in South Derbyshire!  I really enjoyed meeting the students in the Eco Committee team – who are eagerly awaiting the arrival of frogs and newts in the pond they built with volunteer workers from East Midlands Airport.   We looked thoroughly but none to be seen yet.

“My congratulations to Findern School for applying for the East Midland Airport grant; for successfully winning it; and, for putting it to such good use - a charming environment to learn how to take care of the environment.   I was particularly fascinated by the ‘Bug Hotel’ which is one of the ways the school spent the grant.  A lovely morning visit before rushing down on the train to Westminster.”

  • I-Vengers Survey Link

Tue 08 Mar 2022 The School Office

We are asking parents to take the i vengers anonymous survey so that we can compare what the children are doing and what you think they are doing at school.

The children have now completed the i venger programme in school which means this could be the last chance to complete the survey before they collate the data.

The results will be shared with you as soon as we have it so that we can work together to keep our children safe online with relevant resources and information for parents and carers.

Please click the link below to access the survey. It will only take a minute to complete and mirrors the one children are doing in school. This needs to be opened in google chrome if you are struggling to access the survey.
