We’ve got some hungry monsters on our website today! They keep eating all of the food on the PowerPoint below!
We know that you can all add up very well now, so we are going to learn how to subtract. This is when you have a number of objects and take some away, then count how many you have left which gives you the answer.
An example is;
Mrs Smith has 5 sweets. She eats 3 sweets at break time, now she only has 2 sweets left!
We would write this number sentence like this:
5 – 3 = 2
Can you have a go at the subtraction questions on the slides to see if you can do it?
There is a number line on each slide to help you with answering the questions.
