On the week beginning 4th November, Findern Primary School celebrated Multicultural Week. The children experienced and learnt about Indian cultures and traditions. Please have a look at the photographs below.
On Monday 4th November, Willow Class went to the Faith Trail Hindu Temple in Normington, Derby. The children participated in a meditation exercise, observed prayers and had a tour of the Temple.
On Wednesday 6th November, the children witnessed and enjoyed an Indian Marriage Workshop. The classes that took part were Fir, Hazel and Larch. We have had many positive reviews from the children and class teachers.
On Thursday 7th November, all classes engaged in an Indian Dance Workshop.
On Friday 8th November, a parent came to talk to Fir and Oak Class about commonly used greetings, festivals/celebrations and the major landmarks of India. She also brought in food for the classes and staff so the School could have a taste of India.
We want to say a massive thank you to all that contributed for this Multicultural Week.
