Who am I, where do I belong?
This half term we will be completing baseline assessments with all children. We will spend time getting to know each child individually and working as a whole class to learn about each other. Over the first few weeks we will focus on 'all about you' where the children will celebrate their similarities and differences. They will create self portraits and say why they are special. We will play lots of getting to know you games and encourage new friendships.
We will then move on to talking about people who are special to us and member of our families. The class will learn about changes that happen from being a baby to a toddler and then a child. We will look at baby photographs of each other and describe how we have changed. Our main text will be Elmer where we will explore differences and also learn about mixing colours and feelings. We will then end the term looking at the book Funny Bones and learning about our bodies. We will learn about our 5 senses and explore the outdoor area using our senses. We will also label parts of our body using a skeleton.
